He’s One of Us!
A native Oklahoman, James Leewright has a lifetime of experience working to improve his community. He grew up in the country and lives our rural District 12 values every day raising livestock and teaching his kids the value of hard work and the importance of farming and ranching in our state. James earned a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University and is working on his MBA at Oklahoma City University. He and his wife, Cari, have a small ranch near Kellyville and are members of the First Baptist Church of Bristow.
Devoted Husband and Father
James is blessed with a wife, Cari, that shares his values and goals for our state. Without Cari to support his service to our state, he would be unable to serve and work as hard for us as he does. Together James and Cari have four children, Blake, 19, Jack, 16, Kendall, 14, and Carington, 8. Family has always been James’ No. 1 priority and motivation for serving the great state of Oklahoma.
Successful Businessman and Job Creator
After college, James was employed a Fortune 500 company working on one of the largest trading floors in natural gas and oil derivatives. Ten years later he decided to open his own business, a restoration and construction company. For the next 17 years, he built the company’s reputation and provided countless jobs. In 2018, he sold the business to focus on serving District 12.
